MIDSUMMER’S MAYHEM June 5th, 4pm-6pm
Do you love to read fun books that involve food? Do you love baking up magical treats? Come and do both with local author Rajani LaRocca! Midsummer’s Mayhem, her book for kids age 8-12, is about Mimi, a Massachusetts girl who dreams of winning a baking contest. Then she meets an unusual boy and bakes with him using exotic ingredients they find in the woods behind her house. When everyone around her starts acting loopy, Mimi must find a way to fix things while still trying to win the contest. You will learn about the author’s inspiration for the book and the goodies inside it, and bake two different treats from the story: chocolate chunk cookies with citrus and thyme, and rose-cardamom cupcakes. Each participant will go home with their delectable desserts and a signed copy of the book!
